COVID-19 and CARES ACT Disclaimer

Cares Act

Angeles Institute (Angeles) has distributed thousands of dollars in emergency financial aid grants to its students under a provision of the federal CARES Act designed to help students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Angeles-administered grants were made possible by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) established pursuant to Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

In September 2021, Angeles was awarded $84,005 from HEERF with the requirement that those funds be distributed to students as emergency financial aid grants. As of this quarter starting July 2021, the institute had disbursed $84,005 of emergency financial aid grants to students.

The estimated total number of students at Angeles potentially eligible to receive the emergency financial aid grants is 100.

The emergency grant amounts that Angeles students received were determined by the following parameters:

For all students enrolled and attending classes being conducted from of July 19,2021 through October 17, 2021, including students on a COVID related leave, in a Title IV eligible program.

HEERF disbursement is equal to, at maximum, 17.013% of a full annual PELL disbursement, with those having an EFC above 003200 receiving a minimum of $500.00.

Those with an EFC of 005847 or greater or not are a non-Title IV recipient will receive $350.00.

Angeles sent notices by email to eligible Angeles students about how the grants were being disbursed and provided updates to its public website.

NOTE: Angeles Institute is providing this information to demonstrate compliance with requirements of the CARES Act for institutions receiving allocations from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.
